ON a Sunday night last month at Daddy’s, a bar in Williamsburg, Brooklyn, more than a dozen people in their 20s and 30s gathered at a professional soiree, drinking frozen margaritas and nibbling store-bought cookies. With their thrift-store inspired clothes and abundant tattoos, they looked as if they could be filmmakers, Web designers, coffee shop purveyors or artists.

TORONTO — Don’t look up! There’s a political crisis to the north!

That’s the warning comedian Jon Stewart had for his fellow Americans about Canada on his show The Daily Show With Jon Stewart, which aired late Monday night.

It seems Canada’s parliamentary crisis has not gone unnoticed by Stewart, who used our political brouhaha as the butt of jokes in a segment titled “Provinces In Peril: Indecision OH-EH?”
